CORESTA is the abbreviation for Centre de Coopération pour les Recherches Scientifiques Relatives au Tabac (Cooperation Centre for
Scientific Research Relative to Tobacco). CORESTA is an association founded in 1956, ruled by French law, the purpose being to promote
international cooperation in scientific research relative to tobacco. CORESTA Full Members are organisations (companies, institutes,
laboratories, associations) having R&D activities related to tobacco or tobacco products (including e-cigarettes), whether in
the plant field (agronomy, breeding, phytopathology) or in the fields of manufacturing, chemistry, metrology, or materials (cigarette
paper and filters). CORESTA membership was 24 upon foundation, 117 in 1976, and at the end of the 57th Financial Year on 31 March
2013 there were 176 organisations listed as Full Members. Lauterbach & Associates, LLC, became a member of CORESTA on August 31,
2005. CORESTA holds Congresses every other year (even years). The whole association is invited to participate in them, and a General
Assembly is held during each Congress. On odd years, two separate Study Group meetings are held, one for the Agronomy & Leaf Integrity
and Phytopathology & Genetics Groups and one for the Smoke Science and Product Technology Groups. Lauterbach & Associates
made its first CORESTA presentation at the 2009 Smoke Science / Product Technology Joint Study Group Meeting in Aix-en-Provence, France.
The 73rd Tobacco Science Research Conference (TSRC) will be held in Leesburg, VA, September 15-18, 2019. The TSRC [known
as the Tobacco Chemists' Research Conference (TCRC) prior to 1998] is held annually as is known for the high quality presentations
on tobacco science and related fields from scientists in the US and other countries. Recent conferences have focused on regulatory
issues dealing with tobacco products and on e-cigarettes and e-liquids. Each year's conference begins with a symposium featuring leading
speakers on tobacco science and published in Recent Advances in Tobacco Science.
Beiträge zur Tabakforschung / Contributions to Tobacco Research is a peer-reviewed open-access journal that contains numerous scientific articles on tobacco, tobacco products, and tobacco smoke. The first issue was January 1961. Many of the outstanding tobacco scientists have published their research in this Journal. E-cigarettes are now coverned.
